ÀÇÓѸó's President's Scholars Golf Tournament Raises Over $65,000 for Student Scholarships

Hanford, CA – On Monday, September 23, 2024, ÀÇÓѸó (WHCCD) hosted its annual President's Scholars Golf Tournament at Kings Country Club in Hanford, raising over $65,000 to benefit students through the President's Scholars Program. The event, which attracted a broad range of sponsors and participants, continues its mission of supporting students from Kings and Fresno counties by providing them access to a nearly cost-free college education.

Since the program's inception in 1998, more than 800 students have received free tuition and up to $250 per semester for books, making it possible for them to complete their first two years of college with minimal financial burden, especially when choosing to live at home. The funds raised during the tournament will continue to help students in the region achieve their educational goals without the heavy weight of tuition costs.

The event was generously sponsored by numerous community partners, including:

  • Educational Employees Credit Union
  • Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi-Yokut Tribe
  • Keller Motors
  • Morgan Stanley
  • EMCOR
  • Mid Valley Disposal
  • US Bank
  • Carl Nelson Insurance
  • Teter
  • HCI Systems
  • Joe & Kathy Neves
  • Axiom Ag
  • Dale Scott & Co.
  • TCM Investments
  • Brian & Dixie Wellborn Estate
  • Erickson Law Firm
  • Pacific West Controls
  • Mark Millett
  • Automated Office Systems

In addition to the event's success, Brent Swanson & Tangram Interiors donated directly to the President's Scholars Program. Their generous contribution will further expand the opportunities available to local students.

"The ongoing success of the President's Scholars Golf Tournament is a testament to the incredible support from our community and sponsors," said Alex Perez, Executive Director of West Hills Community College Foundation. "Their generosity continues to help students from our region pursue higher education and reach their potential."

The funds raised will directly benefit future scholars from Kings and Fresno counties, helping to ensure that more students can experience the life-changing benefits of a college education. WHCCD is deeply grateful for the continued community support and looks forward to next year's tournament to expand its efforts further.
